Fran Silvestre was part of the exceptional jury of the Elle Decoration 2024 Design Awards, held in Madrid. The event, which took place at the iconic Ritz Hotel, brought together leading figures such as Philippe Starck, Andreu Carulla and Emilio Tuñón, among others, to celebrate innovation and creativity in design.
The Elle Decoration Design Awards 2024 served as a platform to highlight the importance of design as an agent of social change, challenging established norms and offering innovative solutions for the contemporary world. The jury, also composed of figures such as Carlos Urroz, Inma Bermúdez, and Diego Rodríguez, evaluated the nominees in seven categories that included Designer, Interior Designer, Sustainability, Architecture, Social Consciousness, and Future.
The ceremony was conducted by Mar Saura, who brought warmth and closeness, and the evening was enlivened by the music of Miss Violina, creating a magical atmosphere for the attendees.
The winners of the various categories were:
– Designer of the Year: Andreu Carulla, recognized for his versatile projects ranging from swimwear collections to socially conscious initiatives.
– Interior Designer of the Year Award: Quintana Partners, for its ability to fuse nostalgic and avant-garde styles in international interiors.
– Sustainability Award: Philippe Starck, for his ability to integrate functionality and aesthetics, reinventing objects and spaces with an ecological approach.
– Architecture Award: Estudio Tuñón y Albornoz, for their work on the Royal Collections Museum.
– Social Conscience Award: Hortensia Herrero, for her contribution to the arts and the rehabilitation of a baroque palace to house contemporary art.
– Future Award: Lucas Muñoz, for his innovation in the use of recycled materials in the creation of objects and functional spaces.
This event not only celebrated individual achievements, but also the role of design in building a more just and responsive society.
