The project consists of the interior updating of an apartment in the center of the city of Valencia. We ordered the space looking for the continuity of the rooms, integrating the structural elements of the existing building within the divisions and the carpentry.
The plan is understood as three longitudinal bands that allow through ventilation. An area where you can work with generous natural lighting is incorporated into the main area of the house. A system of sliding carpentry allows incorporating or dividing the kitchen space from the living room depending on the situation. A gym, a water area, a fireplace, a terrace facing south over the treetops of Gran Vía (the healthy biophilia) and various facilities give the apartment a level of comfort that sometimes you do not want to leave.

The project talks about setting limits and their permeability. The first border is established between the street and the free space of the house, in Burriana, as in many municipalities the regulations establish a maximum dimension for the opaque fence and the rest of the height with a permeable materiality. We decided, perhaps influenced by the gate that Andreu Alfaro together with Emilio Giménez designed both in the house and in the sculptor’s studio, to make this border as an opaque filter for the views and penetrable for light and air, with a constant materiality in full height. This fine line built with aluminum profiles, which are arranged at an angle that prevents the view from the outside, draws a patio with almost the entire available surface
The NIU N290 project is in the construction phase and is located in Valencia.
The N290 model has the most unique of the NIU homes, the rooms are organized and distributed around a central courtyard and have panoramas in all four directions. This single-story home is organized around a bright central courtyard. The spaces of the home are distributed around the courtyard and divided into four distinct areas that open in four different directions and maintain their complete independence.
This week took place, at the MArch Architecture and Design School, the workshop with Fran Silvestre Thinking by doing. We have been worked on the way of approaching the conception of a project. The initial phase of the architectural project is one of the most complex parts to undertake because of its level of abstraction, and it is also one of the most important of its development.
Each project is understood as a personal challenge with different variables (scale, conditioners, customers, use …) that determine the result of the work. At this point, it is necessary to know and use an effective working method.

Located in the center of Valencia, the project seeks to reinterpret the approach of this type of housing, recovering the potential of disused roofs. We like to think that each building takes away an open space from the city and gives it back on the roof.

The house is located in front of the Mediterranean, in a place where an imposing dune protects the coast from storms. This starting point defines the configuration of the project. The house is materialized with two volumes arranged perpendicular to each other.
In order to have views of the sea, the program of uses of the house is inverted as opposed to the traditional scheme, the day area is arranged on the upper floor to be able to look over the top of the dune and uses the lower level roof as a belvedere.

“Fran Silvestre’s architecture is a distillation of the Mediterranean landscape and way of life: open, white, bright and refined spaces. This concept that inspires to live outdoors and enjoy the mild Levant climate cannot find a better translation outside of mainland than in the design of pleasure boats. The sailboat in which they have intervened is a Turkish schooner of twenty meters in length and two masts.”
One of the most recent projects completed by the studio, Topaz of Braye, has been published by the well-known magazine Arquitectura y Diseño. You can read more about the news here or learn more about the project on our website and on our Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and Pinterest. profiles.
The project consists of completely redesigning a sailboat. This is a 20-meter long Turkish schooner that was originally owned by a renowned British music promoter. It has two masts slightly inclined towards the stern. This type of boat was used for fishing and as a cargo ship, but later they were also used in regattas. The first one carried out in 1851 was won by the schooner America that today gives its name to the famous competition.
Next Friday, September 18th at 8 p.m., in the old convent of San Doménec in Xàtiva, will take place the inaguration of the exhibition Alfaro a Xàtiva: Diàleg amb la història, where some of the most recognized works by the Valencian artist will be distributed in the most representative enclaves of the historic center of the city, seeking to establish a dialogue between architecture of past eras with a minimalist sculpture. The rotundity of the Gothic or the sobriety of the Renaissance, interspersed with the simplicity and slenderness of sculptures such as The Fountain, the Laocoonte or the Goethe sitting in the countryside of Rome.
The exhibition will be curated by Fran Silvestre and Pablo Camarasa and will run from September to December.

“This two-floor apartment in the Alicante town, Altea, could be perfectly defined as a blank canvas. After its refurbishment, in the interior prevail the neutral colors, the first-class materials such as Carrara marble, and an obsession with organization that borders on perfection.”

The project consists in the construction of the headquarters for Mondraker, a company dedicated to the manufacture of competition mountain bikes. Located in an industrial park and surrounded by orthogonal edification, the building seeks to break away from the adjacent geometry and encloses itself, with a circular plan hollowed out by a central courtyard. Two vaults pierce the geometry allowing the access to the building, and creating a sort of central atrium which can be used, due to its form, to generate events and exhibitions. This geometry separates the building from its surrounding, reinforcing the corporative identity of the company and improving the quality of the open space in the plot.
